[ARCHIVED] MLK Day of Service: Hosting a Service Project

MLK Day of Service 2017

This year, we would like to help even more local nonprofits connect to the community.  The joint community service event will be publicized by both villages, and exposure to the organizations and the important services they provide the community will extend beyond this one day.  Please review the two ways you can participate, then fill out the Service Project Host Application

  • Host an MLK Day of Service Project: Plan a service project for MLK Day at your location and we will send you volunteers. We will promote your project and direct interested volunteers to you. Last year the Pads project welcomed nearly 100 helpers, many of them first-timers.
  • Donation Drive: You provide a wish list of needed items for your organization and we will recruit community groups to run the donation drive.

Please notify Laura Brennan-Levy at lbrennan-levy@flossmoor.org when your project volunteer roster is full.

The 2017 MLK Day of Service will also feature Community Service Open Houses at both Homewood and Flossmoor Village Halls and a joint community food drive to benefit Respond Now food pantry.

Questions can be directed to Laura Brennan-Levy at the Village of Flossmoor, (708)798-2300 or lbrennan-levy@flossmoor.org.  We look forward to supporting your organization on MLK Day.
