Candidate packets for the 2021 election, which have been available at Village Hall, will be available at the Police Department beginning Friday, Nov. 20.
Filing begins at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2020. If Village Hall remains closed to the public during the filing period, the Deputy Village Clerk will be on site to accept simultaneous filings at the east doors of Village Hall at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 and again on Dec. 21 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Outside of those times, candidates may also file during business hours between Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. Those candidates should call Deputy Village Clerk Allison Matson at (708) 335-5411 or email info@flossmoor.org in advance to ensure a staff member is on site to accept the filing.
All candidates filing at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 will be entered into a lottery for first position on the ballot. Candidates filing between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 21 will be entered into a lottery for the last position on the ballot.
As a courtesy to prospective candidates for office for the April 6, 2021 consolidated election, the Village will provide suggested forms from the State of Illinois which candidates may wish to use to prepare the filing of nomination papers. The following forms will be provided:
-Petition for Nomination Sheets
-Statement of Candidacy
-Loyalty Oath (optional)
In addition to the above, each candidate must file a statement of economic interest with the County Clerk before the close of the filing period for nomination papers (December 21, 2020) and include a copy of the filing receipt with their nominating papers.

Last date to file objections to nominating petitions December 29, 2020
