As a courtesy to prospective candidates for office for the April 6, 2021 consolidated election, the Village will provide suggested forms from the State of Illinois which candidates may wish to use to prepare the filing of nomination papers.  The following forms will be provided:

                -Petition for Nomination Sheets

                -Statement of Candidacy

                -Loyalty Oath (optional)

In addition to the above, each candidate must file a statement of economic interest with the County Clerk before the close of the filing period for nomination papers (December 21, 2020) and include a copy of the filing receipt with their nominating papers.

Important election dates are:

First date to pick up petitions at Village Hall                              September 22, 2020

First date to circulate petitions                                                     September 22, 2020

First date to file petitions                                                              December 14, 2020

Last date to file petitions                                                              December 21, 2020

Last date to file objections to nominating petitions                December 29, 2020

Election Day                                                                                    April 6, 2021

Please understand that the Village is providing these forms and information as a courtesy.  Candidates remain responsible for compliance with all election laws including filing requirements and sufficiency of forms.  Helpful information is available in the State of Illinois Handbook “Candidate’s Guide 2021” which may be obtained when available from the State Board of Elections at 217-782-4141 or at http://www.elections.il.gov/.  All election information should be confirmed through your attorney or the State Board of Elections.  The Village is prohibited from giving legal advice.
